The spindle technology of five-axis machine tools is mainly divided into two categories: traditional mechanical spindles and electric spindles.
The five-axis linkage accuracy in a five-axis gantry machining center machine tool refers to the comprehensive manifestation of the position accuracy and contour accuracy and other indicators that can be achieved when the machine tool moves simultaneously and collaboratively on the basis of the X, Y, and Z linear coordinate axes by adding two rotary coordinate axes, namely the AC axis or the BC axis.
The following are specific descriptions of various precisions:
Position accuracy
Positioning accuracy: It refers to the positional accuracy that each coordinate axis of the machine tool can achieve under the control of the numerical control device. For example, when a five-axis linkage machining center positions a certain point, the deviation between the actual position and the target position should be within the specified range.
Contour accuracy
Straightness: It is used to measure the degree of conformity between the actual motion trajectory of a machine tool during linear interpolation motion and the ideal straight line, reflecting the accuracy of the machine tool during linear processing. For example, when processing linear shaft parts, it can ensure the straightness of the shaft.
Roundness: It refers to the degree of closeness between the actual circle processed by a machine tool during circular interpolation or processing of circular contors and the ideal circle. For example, when processing the blisks of aero engine blades, it is necessary to ensure the roundness of each circle on the blisks.
Perpendicularity and parallelism: These mainly assess the positional accuracy between different coordinate axes and motion directions of machine tools. Perpendicularity refers to the degree to which two coordinate axes or motion directions are perpendicular to each other, while parallelism refers to the degree to which two coordinate axes or motion directions are parallel to each other. For example, when processing molds, it is necessary to ensure the perpendicularity and parallelism of each part of the mold.
Dynamic accuracy
Speed stability: It refers to the smoothness of the movement speed of each coordinate axis of the machine tool under different feed speeds. Only when the speed fluctuation is small can the consistency of the processed surface quality be guaranteed.
Acceleration performance: It reflects the response capability and accuracy of each coordinate axis of the machine tool during the acceleration and deceleration processes. Good acceleration performance can enhance processing efficiency and accuracy. For instance, during high-speed milling, it can quickly and accurately adjust the tool movement state.
Linkage accuracy
Interpolation accuracy: It refers to the degree of closeness between the actual motion trajectory and the theoretical interpolation trajectory when the machine tool performs multi-axis linkage interpolation operations. Only with high interpolation accuracy can the processing accuracy of complex curves and surfaces be guaranteed.
Synchronization accuracy: It refers to the synchronization performance of the movement among the coordinate axes in five-axis linkage machining. Good synchronization accuracy can avoid shape errors and surface quality problems caused by the asynchronous movement of the coordinate axes.
